1} Now that it is fruit pie season I’m really starting to miss having an oven. I sooo want to make this very berry pie on a summer weekend and take it to the park with a bottle of prosecco.

2} If I ever travel to meet Joel’s extended family I definitely need to schedule in visiting this remote island.

3} In case you missed the Tony Awards on the other week, Neil Patrick Harris was the star of the show with his “BIG” spectacular opening number and that closing rap wasn’t too shabby either!

4} bumble & bumble surf spray

5} the perfect cooler tote for a park and beach picnic outing

Happy Weekend, I finally have no plans at all and can’t wait!

il_fullxfull.431181810_git01} NY Magazine’s Summer 2013 issue out. So much to do, so little time. I want to live every page of it! It’s got info on what to eat, where to beach, what to see, what to hear and what to wear while doing it all!

2} What a charming little bracelet that’s easy on the wallet too.

3} The next book I’ll read.

4} Citibike has launched here, a NYC bike share program where you can rent bikes from hundreds of self-service stations around the city. Plus three great bike rides.

5} It’s Big Apple Barbecue time again in Madison Square Park. The waits are long, hot and absolutely worth it!

Happy Weekend, I’m going to brave the BBQ lines after my run in Central Park on Saturday!

2 } This video is sooo last week but it’s hilarious, please take the next 8 minutes to enjoy a good laugh with Jimmy & John!

3 } Brooklyn…from Biggie to organic-artisinal-vegan cupcakes: the remix

4 } easy peezy pulled pork, great for summer BBQs

5 } I’ve braved the waters of the Hudson River, maybe one day soon I’ll do so in the East River’s floating pool.

Have a happy weekend, I’m heading to Charleston for Page’s bachelorette party where debauchery will ensue. And Happy Birthday, Dad!

1} Janelle Monae’s song Q.U.E.E.N is the new summer song – with a great video too!

2} QUINCIPLE, bringing the farmer’s market to your own kitchen.

3} One of my fave starlets, Rashida Jones, dishes on kale, drunk people, Obama, Roe v. Wade, social media, Sundance and break-ups.

4} Who’s excited to see Baz Luhrmann’s  The Great Gatsby this weekend?! I haven’t read the book (whoops, skipped that required reading in high school) so am reading it now before seeing the movie. Can’t wait though!

5} Lovely Mother’s Day brunch menu and the perfect table to serve it on.

Happy Mother’s Day to all and especially to mine!

1} Creative conversation with J.Crew’s oh-so-cool+chic Jenna Lyons and her awesome office.

2} This rain room exhibit looks coolio and obviously I’ll need to steal a smooch under the rain whilst wearing kitten heels with one leg bending up.

3} You’ve probably heard of NikeiD, where you can customized Nike shoes, clothing and accessories. I did a pair of  sneakers couple years ago that have “EG” on the tongue – obsessed! Their new tool, Nike PHOTOiD designs shoes based on your Instagram photos. Click here and here to see my two photography inspired creations.

4} I have so many ideas on the first dish to christen my new oven with…whenever we have a new oven. Right now this summer berry & yogurt tart { pictured above } tops the list!

5} Kanye West + Wes Anderson = Kanye Wes

Happy May and Happy Weekend!

1} It was a sad start to the week with the hideous Boston Marathon bombings. Out of tragedy comes inspiration that we can try to focus on instead, like the marathon runners who kept on running to Mass General to donate blood. The-Wonderist takes a minute to reflect on her real life superheroes.

2} You pretty much can’t go wrong with mashed up avocados, this Mango-Pomegranate Guacamole recipe sounds exceptionally divine!

3} Brooklyn Flea & Smorgasburg have opened up their outdoor locations, great way to spend Spring weekends.

4} Bill Murray does a rad real life slo-mo walk. This guy is awesome-pants!

5} Pol Watchers – Everyone’s a Bad Guy

Happy Weekend!

1} Have you all heard that Tilda Swinton will be sleeping in a box at MoMa. Her unannounced and random acts of sleeping are part of a performance called The Myth. I’ll be honest, I don’t really know what the artistic value is but now I want to spend all my free time at the museum in hopes she’ll be there sleeping. I wonder if she snores?!

2} Well hello, adorable little spring flats that will look great with skinny jeans + blazer.

3} I see a lot of salads in my future (no oven and soon no stove), I think they’ll all be doused with this yummy Creamy Avocado Vinaigrette dressing.

4} Don Draper is back this Sunday night!

5} In a book rut?…82 Book Club Books.

Happy Weekend! I’m headed to Roanoke for Page’s Wedding Shower.

1.} How am I only now discovering Brooklyn Farmacy & Soda Fountain. I want to have a party here, have a photo shoot here, take Isabella and Aidan here. I’ll start by going there myself, maybe this weekend!

2.} The landmark Domino Sugar building along Brooklyn’s waterfront is getting a makeover…complete with a yoga studio, apartments and green urban planting spaces.

3. } If you like it you should be able to put a ring on it. Almost my entire Facebook news feed was covered in red boxes, it was great to see! It’s time America, it’s just the right thing.

4. } April’s Fools is around the corner, do you have a trick up your sleeve?

5. } new york, then and now

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JILL!!!
