audra’s engagement shower

7 Oct

Yesterday some friends and I had a surprise engagement lunch for our sweet friend Audra who’s getting married next year.  We transformed my renovation-in-progress apartment into a real life Pinterest board with balloons, treats and flowers. Here are a few pics from the fun afternoon!

Ceiling balloons make anything feel fun and festive!

hello hotty…weather, that is { 6.3.13 }

Summer kicked into high gear up here this weekend with thick air and extremely high temps. This girl welcomed it after what’s felt like 2 months of rain and chills – I’d rather by sweaty and need flip-flops over a needing a Patagonia. The last two weekends I was on the road for Page’s bachelorette party and then to Montauk so it was great to stay grounded this weekend. Mostly I ran errands, did laundry and cleaned up but I did manage to get in a little sun time and was treated to a delicious pasta dinner with great friends.

Stumbled upon a Havianas pop-up store and got geared up for beach season!IMG_3321

Took out new flip-flops, new beach blanket and Gatsby to catch some rays.IMG_3324

I wasn’t the only one with the idea!IMG_3337 IMG_3322

Ended the weekend with a yummy quinoa, red pepper, and cucumber salad with avocado and lime.

brooklyn botanic garden { 5.7.13 }

7 May

We took our first ever trip to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden on Saturday afternoon. I can’t believe I’ve been missing out on such beauty smack dab in the middle of Brooklyn all these years. It was a spectacular! Not that the gorgeous cherry blossoms weren’t enough for me but there were girls out front selling Girl Scout Cookies as a bonus to the trip, so I walked away with 2 boxes of Samoas (with only 1 box left as a type this). Just a tip, admission is FREE on Saturdays from 10am – 12pm which we didn’t find out until about 1:30pm…next time!

chelsea market { 2.27.13 }

27 Feb

We went to the Chelsea Market last weekend, such a great way to spend a winter day when it’s too chilly to do anything outside yet want to get out and about. The Chelsea Market occupies an entire city block in downtown Manhattan with the top floors home to hip offices, photo studios and The Food Network while the ground floor offers everything from unique artisanal goods and epicurean delights, to fashion, books, crafts and more!
